Open Question: Who are the 45 million Americans without health insurance coverage,and,how does that figure?
There are approximately 300 million people in the U.S., and,many of us have all kinds of health insurance and excellent health care through providers on our plans,and,many of us are happy with what we have. So,where does the statistic of 45 million Americans without health insurance coverage come from?

Resolved Question: Why do I feel like hurting people? Is it Zoloft or frustration?
i was on zoloft (from 12.5mg to 50mg) from february to late june. i stopped because, well, i ran out and i had a health insurance problem. i was on it for anxiety attacks, which it helped somewhat, and mild depression. i was still anxious though. but then it made me manic--wanting to jump out my skin and then having obsessive disturbing thoughts and crying all the time. i'm still withdrawing from it as well as menstruating...i don't really want to hurt people but i still keep having thoughts about right and wrong and what if i do this and blah blah blah. i'm just so mad...been dealing with anxiety disorders, mood swings, and mild depression since i hit puberty...i'm 19 now, in college. Z was the first med i've been on. got thru everything on my own before then. i'm sick of the things that i'm missing out on because i can't think straight. i'm not stable at all. AM i just stressed out or is withdrawing from Z make me act like this?? i used to be so sweet and nice, and now i'm just...tired. i think i do have cyclothymia (bipolar's baby sis) but i won't freaking know until i go to the doctor's...of course after my stupid health insurance is sorted out...which should be soon.

Let us be about setting high standards for life, love, creativity, and wisdom. If our expectations in these areas are low, we are not likely to experience wellness. Setting high standards makes every day and every decade worth looking forward to.

Ritalin is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant. It is claimed to have a 'calming' effect on humans with ADHD, reducing impulsive behavior, and facilitating concentration on work and other tasks. Adults with have ADHD often claim that methylphenidate (Ritalin) increases their ability to focus on tasks and organize their lives. I have ADHD (without hyperactivity) and I take Adderall XR (30 mgs.). I take Adderall because it has less side-effects than Ritalin.
Here are some of the side-effects of Ritalin:
"Clinically significant reported side effects include difficulty sleeping, stomach aches, headaches,weight loss and dry mouth. Less common side effects include palpitations, high blood pressure and pulse changes. Other side effects include clinical depression and dysphoria (unexplained sadness), and some patients report a loss in awareness of self. Ritalin at one time was used to treat depression, but is no longer used for that purpose because those going off the drug (a stimulant) sometimes experience even more depression during the time of withdrawal."
I actually found out I have ADHD by taking my boyfriend's prescription Adderall! I also thought that I had ADHD like you, but wasn't positive until I took Adderall. I noticed that I could think a million times better and a lot more clearly. For once in my life, I stayed on track when doing homework! I made an appointment with my doctor, told him I had been taking someone else's Adderall, and that it had been working wonderfully! He asked me some questions to make sure I had ADHD and then gave me a prescription of my own! He said that the best way to tell if someone has ADHD is letting them try out the medication. If you can nap on Ritalin because you're not all hyper, then most likely you have ADHD.
Before you take this Ritalin, make sure that you're not taking too much for your weight! Is your friend a lot heavier than you? Find out how much he/she is taking before you take it. Another thing (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!) is to make sure you're not on any other medications that can have NEGATIVE DRUG INTERACTIONS with Ritalin! Check out this site before you take Ritalin! You do not want to end up like Anna Nicole!

I hope this helped! Good luck.

hello all! Nice to meet you and thanks for reading!
Im a married mom in my early 30s who has spent all my adult life overwieght. I hate when I hear that our bodies are the best in our 20s cuz it just makes me want to cry knowing I let all those years go unhealthy, overwieght, and with self hate. I cant really say why I did it, but I did. Now its time for me to let go of what I cannot change, and finally change what I can!
Thats whay I say Im finally starting MY life. Not that Ive been dead all this time, but in a certain way I have. I had my babies as a teen and have basically lived for them and my family. Its so easy to ignore yourself when you have so much on your plate. My world surrounded their well being, happiness, love and care. Not to mention I got married very young so all my time and devotion has and will always be for my children and my sweet husband. But as I have gotten older I learned that a truly healthy and happy women is not just a great mom, loving wife, and good employee. She must have more to her, for herself.
As I look into my life I see that I have nothing for ME. So today I start MY life by spending at least one hour a day with something that will benefit me. I will begin with a 30 min walk and do my best to re direct the self hate thinking. I will also put good things in my body, good food that will benefit ME.
As the days go by I think it will get easier to really commit to my diet plan and a great workout plan. But I have to start somewhere and that somewhere is here and now.

Yesterday was among the hardest days of the TTP ordeal so far. It started with dialysis, where the woman in the bed next to mine flat-lined. That set the emtional tone for the day. And dialysis itself took a lot out of me the doctors are having trouble revocing excess fluid without makingme feel very very unwell. And because I was feeling very unwell after dialysis, the nurse injected me with IV zofran, an anti-nausea medication. That went poorly.
As it turns out, I am overly sensitive IV drugs. Instead of just controlling nausea, the Zofran completely undid me. I could not think straight, could barefly talk, was weak and shivering uncontrolably. My blood pressure hit completely insane ranges. To say that was unpleasant is to substantially understate. I actually believed that I was going to die right there and then. Fortunately, Celeste came and helped me get my head together and the plasma exchange sucked a lot of the zofran out of my system.
Finally, came the Rituximab, which was administered from 8:00 pm to about 2:30 am. We had to go slow because my blood pressure kept exceeding reasonable parameters.
Oh, stats from yesterday:
Hemoglobin: 7.1. (Very low, they added two more units during dialysis)
LDH: 271 (lowest it has been)
Platelets: 91
Doctor Bitran wants to see the LDH below 250 and the platelets above 120 in order to consider releasing me. Im okay with that. After the horror of yesterday, I am more focussed on gettinig well than I am getting home.
I want to thank many of you for the support I received yesterday. I talked to a lot of you while more or less freaking out, and it helped me stay somewhat sane.

(The information contained in this article does not constitute medical advice; please consult a physician if you have questions about breast health issues raised in this article.)
?
My first time through breast cancer the highways of treatment over which I traveled were the typical cut, poison, and burn routine.?First the surgeon extracted the tumor and surrounding tissue in a lumpectomy.?Then I endured a chemotherapy called CMF, a toxic, colorless cocktail of three chemicals:?cyclophosphamide, methotrexate, and fluorouracil. ?Finally, my breast was radiated for six weeks to seal the fate of any remaining cancerous cells lurking within. ?This article focuses on my experience with chemo.
?
The most common short-term side effects of chemotherapy include fatigue, hair loss, nausea, mucositis (irritation of the lining of the mouth and intestines), increased risk of infection (due to low white-blood-cell counts), and anemia (due to low red-blood-cell counts).?
?
I didnt experience all of these side effects.?My hair thinned, but did not disappear.?My blood-cell counts decreased, but not so much that I couldnt take a cross-country two-week vacation.?I didnt suffer any infections during the entire three months of chemo treatment.
?
Between chemotherapy infusions the technicians religiously took blood samples from me like overeager vampire bats.?The blood draws were performed to determine if my red- and white-blood-cell counts were too low for me to be treated. ?Because my blood was being checked so frequently, my good arm (the one without the lymph nodes removed from the armpit) was feeling the effects of these extra pokes in addition to the I.V. pricks.?Fortunately, my veins did not collapse.
?
The nurses frequently solved the I.V. problem by sticking my arm in a bucket of hot water to make the veins more accessible.?While this technique was not fool-proof, by Gods grace it usually worked and the veins in my arm were able to tough out the entire treatment.?
?
While I did not lose all my hair, the CMF concoction stopped my periods cold about one month after the first infusion.?My research to uncover information on breast cancer revealed that CMF was more likely to trigger menopause than regimens containing Adriamycin (chemical name:?doxorubicin) or Taxol/Taxotere (chemical names:?paclitaxel/docetaxel). ??But Adriamycin is a particularly harsh chemo drug, more so than CMF, causing certain hair loss, markedly reduced white- and red-blood cell counts, and usually severe nausea.?And Taxol/Taxotere can cause peripheral neuropathy, a numbness in fingers and toes.
?
As a normal ten-year period of menopause was condensed into a few months due to chemo, my body found itself adjusting to a sudden reduction in estrogen, leading to night sweats, hot flashes, and mood swings.?Not to mention bone loss, insomnia, and risk to the heart.?It was difficult to determine whether menopause or chemo treatment was causing any particular symptom.?I used a Chillow foam pillow for night sweats, melatonin for inducing sleep, and calcium and Vitamin D to prevent bone loss.
?
Exhaustion was another challenge.?To prevent fatigue often accompanying chemotherapy, patients should initiate mild-to-moderate exercise such as walking 10-20 minutes every day. ?Physical activity after treatment not only can improve fatigue, but offers psychological benefits. ?Breast cancer patients who exercise feel more resilient and less depressed than those who are sedentary.
?
When I was tired from lack of sleep and did not eat or exercise properly, I noticed I couldnt concentrate well.?This mental fog, commonly known as chemo brain, causes temporary confusion and inability to do calculations, as well as mild forgetfulness.?I addressed my concentration and memory problems by making lists, leaving messages on electronic calendars or voice mail to remind myself of things, and using a daily planner to jot down notes regarding urgent tasks.?
?
As to dietary alternatives during chemo, a physician can recommend their use only if they have been proven effective for their intended purpose. ?My own anecdotal evidence is that supplements (such as melatonin and iron) can help.?To me, their sole benefit was to alleviate certain side effects of Western medicine.?With diminished side-effects, I was a happier patient, willing to brave continued treatment with clinically proven drugs.
?
When I conducted cyberspace research to locate information on breast cancer, I consulted only reliable websites.?Those displaying the HONcode logo are considered to be more reputable than websites without it.?This logo represents a certification that the website complies with the Health on the Net principles, designed to increase the accuracy, objectivity, and trustworthiness of Internet health information.?
?
As you can see, this tale of three chemos, C, M, and F, is not one of woe.?Nor is it usually a tale of total hair loss.?Once chemo is through, the breast cancer patient is nearing the final stretch on the road to wellness.

Misconceptions about mental illness have existed for centuries. Accused of everything from moral failings to demonic possession, people with mental illness had been forced to hide their suffering. The Surgeon General of the United States reported in 1999 that stigma was the single largest barrier to the recovery of people with mental illness, making it harder for people to get treatment as well as find housing, jobs, and friends. Nearly two-thirds of people with mental illness do not get the help they need.
Today we understand that mental illness is not only treatable, but that it is a chronic disease like asthma or diabetes. Classifying mental illness as a chronic disease may seem surprising, but consider the statistics. Nearly one in five Americans has a mental disorder, and mental illness is the leading cause of workplace absenteeism. Depression, one of the most common mental illnesses, is harder on people's health than long-term illnesses like angina, arthritis, asthma, and diabetes. A new study by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention finds that depression and anxiety are two major causes of health problems and chronic illnesses, including asthma, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease.
Emergency rooms are overcrowded with people with mental illness. According to the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, almost one-fourth of all stays in U.S. community hospitals-7.6 million of nearly 32 million stays-involved depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and other mental health disorders or addiction disorders. Our contemporary response to mental illness has been to treat mental illness as an acute illness-with a hospital stay followed by a referral to a doctor or clinic in the community.
Unfortunately, the outcome is often relapse and repeated cycles of high-cost hospital stays. The coverage for treatment of mental illness contrasts sharply with its chronic nature. Only an estimated one-fifth of U.S. workers with employer sponsored health insurance are covered by strong parity laws that mandate mental health benefits, prohibit limits on outpatient visits and inpatient days, and limit the extent to which enrollees are burdened with higher cost sharing for mental health services.
Managing the Disease
With adequate treatment and support, people can learn to manage their mental illness and can recover sufficiently to have full, productive lives even if they are not cured. In fact, recovery rates for mental illnesses like depression, anxiety, schizophrenia, and bipolar disorder surpass the treatment success rates for many physical disorders such as heart disease.
But there are major challenges to the well being of people with mental illness. Contributing to the complexity of successful treatment is poor employment status and resulting poverty; high levels of substance use and physical illnesses; and difficulty with adherence to treatment regimens.
The same kind of care-management approaches effective in treating physical conditions such as diabetes or asthma-approaches that offer continuity, coordination and comprehensiveness-can also work for mental illness. The millions of Americans who are living with mental illness need the confidence and skills to manage their condition; the most appropriate treatments for optimal disease control and prevention of complications; a mutually understood care plan that includes coordination among all physicians and support-service providers; and careful, continuous follow up.
People with mental illnesses are no different than people living with arthritis, diabetes, and other chronic diseases. They need to be evaluated, insured, and treated. They need continued care and monitoring.
Ending Insurance Discrimination
Adequate care requires adequate dollars. Public insurance pays for at least 75 percent of treatment services for people with chronic and serious mental illnesses in community settings. Despite its discriminatory approach, it is the only option for millions of poor, unemployed, homeless, incarcerated, and other vulnerable populations with mental illness. So we must act to end the discrimination. We must eliminate ongoing and threatened cuts to Medicaid. And Medicare must stop requiring higher copays from people with mental illness, while strengthening its sadly inadequate mental health benefits package.
Private insurance also discriminates against people with mental illness. Currently, only an estimated one-fifth of U.S. workers with employer sponsored health insurance are covered by strong parity laws that mandate mental health benefits, prohibit limits on outpatient visits and inpatient days, and limit the extent to which enrollees are burdened with higher cost sharing for mental health services.
The recent House passage of the parity bill-the Paul Wellstone Mental Health and Addiction Equity Act-offers hope, taking us closer to ending discriminatory private health insurance policies that deny or restrict access to treatment for people who are suffering from mental illnesses and addiction disorders. If it becomes law, the bill will require health insurers to offer mental health benefits equal in cost and scope to medical and surgical benefits. It will prevent insurers from requiring larger copayments or imposing lower reimbursement ceilings for mental illnesses and addictions.
We have indeed come a long way in how we perceive and treat mental illnesses. But more needs to be done to meet the needs and manage the costs of this chronically ill population. Now is the time to put mental illnesses on an equal footing with other chronic diseases. The sooner that mental illnesses achieve parity, the sooner millions of Americans can get on the road to recovery.

Atypical depression is a subtype of dysthymia and major depression. This condition is characterized by moody reactivity. You will experience happiness and moments of elation during positive events. This disorder is also characterized by reversed vegetative symptoms which include overeating and oversleeping. Other symptoms of this condition are significant weight gain as a result of increased appetite and leaden paralysis or leaden feelings in the arms or legs. You may also become sensitive to interpersonal rejection and this may lead to social or occupational impairment.
This condition is said to be as a result of chemical imbalances in the brain. These chemicals normally ease communication between the brain cells. Examples include dopamine, serotonin, and norepinephrine. Some risk factors for a typical depression include family history of the disorder and a significant loss or misfortune for example death or divorce. Interpersonal conflicts and related emotions such as guilt as well as major life events such as losing a job can also trigger the situation.
Other risk factors include physical, sexual or emotional abuse and serious illnesses such as HIV, cancer, heart disease or stroke. Exclusion or isolation from either family or friends can also trigger the condition. This illness can be treated by antidepressants. It normally responds well to both monoamine oxidase inhibitors and selective serotonin re uptake inhibitors. It however does not respond well to tricyclic antidepressants.
Although monoamine oxidase inhibitors are effective in treating atypical depression, doctors normally don’t prescribe them in the first attempt of treating the illness. This is because they can have adverse drug and food interactions. When on monoamine oxidase inhibitors, you will be advised to limit the intake of simple carbohydrates and fats.

Swine Influenza and You
What is swine flu?
Swine Influenza (swine flu) is a respiratory disease of pigs caused by type A influenza viruses that causes regular outbreaks in pigs. People do not normally get swine flu, but human infections can and do happen. Swine flu viruses have been reported to spread from person-to-person, but in the past, this transmission was limited and not sustained beyond three people.
Are there human infections with swine flu in the U.S.?
In late March and early April 2009, cases of human infection with swine influenza A (H1N1) viruses were first reported in Southern California and near San Antonio, Texas. Other U.S. states have reported cases of swine flu infection in humans and cases have been reported internationally as well. An updated case count of confirmed swine flu infections in the United States is kept at http://www.cdc.gov/swineflu/investigatio n.htm CDC and local and state health agencies are working together to investigate this situation.
Is this swine flu virus contagious?
CDC has determined that this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is contagious and is spreading from human to human. However, at this time, it is not known how easily the virus spreads between people.
What are the signs and symptoms of swine flu in people?
The symptoms of swine flu in people are similar to the symptoms of regular human flu and include fever, cough, sore throat, body aches, headache, chills and fatigue. Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with swine flu. In the past, severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with swine flu infection in people. Like seasonal flu, swine flu may cause a worsening of underlying chronic medical conditions.
How does swine flu spread?
Spread of this swine influenza A (H1N1) virus is thought to be happening in the same way that seasonal flu spreads. Flu viruses are spread mainly from person to person through coughing or sneezing of people with influenza. Sometimes people may become infected by touching something with flu viruses on it and then touching their mouth or nose.
How can someone with the flu infect someone else?
Infected people may be able to infect others beginning 1 day before symptoms develop and up to 7 or more days after becoming sick. That means that you may be able to pass on the flu to someone else before you know you are sick, as well as while you are sick.
What should I do to keep from getting the flu?
First and most important: wash your hands. Try to stay in good general health. Get plenty of sleep, be physically active, manage your stress, drink plenty of fluids, and eat nutritious food. Try not touch surfaces that may be contaminated with the flu virus. Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
Are there medicines to treat swine flu?
Yes. CDC recommends the use of oseltamivir or zanamivir for the treatment and/or prevention of infection with these swine influenza viruses. Antiviral drugs are prescription medicines (pills, liquid or an inhaler) that fight against the flu by keeping flu viruses from reproducing in your body. If you get sick, antiviral drugs can make your illness milder and make you feel better faster. They may also prevent serious flu complications. For treatment, antiviral drugs work best if started soon after getting sick (within 2 days of symptoms).
How long can an infected person spread swine flu to others?
People with swine influenza virus infection should be considered potentially contagious as long as they are symptomatic and possible for up to 7 days following illness onset. Children, especially younger children, might potentially be contagious for longer periods.
What surfaces are most likely to be sources of contamination?
Germs can be spread when a person touches something that is contaminated with germs and then touches his or her eyes, nose, or mouth. Droplets from a cough or sneeze of an infected person move through the air. Germs can be spread when a person touches respiratory droplets from another person on a surface like a desk and then touches their own eyes, mouth or nose before washing their hands.
How long can viruses live outside the body?
We know that some viruses and bacteria can live 2 hours or longer on surfaces like cafeteria tables, doorknobs, and desks. Frequent handwashing will help you reduce the chance of getting contamination from these common surfaces.
What can I do to protect myself from getting sick?
There is no vaccine available right now to protect against swine flu. There are everyday actions that can help prevent the spread of germs that cause respiratory illnesses like influenza. Take these everyday steps to protect your health:
* Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
* Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hand cleaners are also effective.
* Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread this way.
* Try to avoid close contact with sick people.
* If you get sick with influenza, CDC recommends that you stay home from work or school and limit contact with others to keep from infecting them.
What is the best way to keep from spreading the virus through coughing or sneezing?
If you are sick, limit your contact with other people as much as possible. Do not go to work or school if ill. Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when coughing or sneezing. It may prevent those around you from getting sick. Put your used tissue in the waste basket. Cover your cough or sneeze if you do not have a tissue. Then, clean your hands, and do so every time you cough or sneeze.
What is the best technique for washing my hands to avoid getting the flu?
Washing your hands often will help protect you from germs. Wash with soap and water. or clean with alcohol-based hand cleaner. we recommend that when you wash your hands -- with soap and warm water -- that you wash for 15 to 20 seconds. When soap and water are not available, alcohol-based disposable hand wipes or gel sanitizers may be used. You can find them in most supermarkets and drugstores. If using gel, rub your hands until the gel is dry. The gel doesn't need water to work; the alcohol in it kills the germs on your hands.
What should I do if I get sick?
If you live in areas where swine influenza cases have been identified and become ill with influenza-like symptoms, including fever, body aches, runny nose, sore throat, nausea, or vomiting or diarrhea, you may want to contact their health care provider, particularly if you are worried about your symptoms. Your health care provider will determine whether influenza testing or treatment is needed.
If you are sick, you should stay home and avoid contact with other people as much as possible to keep from spreading your illness to others.
If you become ill and experience any of the following warning signs, seek emergency medical care.
In children emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
* Fast breathing or trouble breathing
* Bluish skin color
* Not drinking enough fluids
* Not waking up or not interacting
* Being so irritable that the child does not want to be held
* Flu-like symptoms improve but then return with fever and worse cough
* Fever with a rash
In adults, emergency warning signs that need urgent medical attention include:
* Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
* Pain or pressure in the chest or abdomen
* Sudden dizziness
* Confusion
* Severe or persistent vomiting
How serious is swine flu infection?
Like seasonal flu, swine flu in humans can vary in severity from mild to severe. Between 2005 until January 2009, 12 human cases of swine flu were detected in the U.S. with no deaths occurring. However, swine flu infection can be serious. In September 1988, a previously healthy 32-year-old pregnant woman in Wisconsin was hospitalized for pneumonia after being infected with swine flu and died 8 days later. A swine flu outbreak in Fort Dix, New Jersey occurred in 1976 that caused more than 200 cases with serious illness in several people and one death.
Can I get swine influenza from eating or preparing pork?
No. Swine influenza viruses are not spread by food. You cannot get swine influenza from eating pork or pork products. Eating properly handled and cooked pork products is safe.

Mark R. Levin in Liberty and Tyranny has written one of the most important books of our time with the intriguing comparison of liberty and tyranny as his driving theme. Levin quotes Abraham Lincoln to start the thought process of his readers.
In 1864 Lincoln said: “We all declare for liberty but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men’s labor. Here are two, not only different but incompatible things, called by the same name-liberty. And it follows that each of the things is by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names-liberty and tyranny.”
Levin in his book outlines in great detail the steps to tyranny being taken by the so called Liberal movement in America. He correctly points out that the modern liberal is does not fit the classic meaning of liberal which is the opposite of authoritarian. Levin maintains that the Modern Liberal more accurately can be characterized as a Statist.
The Statist believes in vesting economic control and economic planning in a centralized state government.
Levine unlike many talks how hosts describes the contest between Conservative thought and the efforts of the Statists with an academic research effort that is outstanding for detail and accuracy. The bombast of many of the combatants on the important issues of governance is not part of Levin’s Liberty and Tyranny.
The creation of the Constitution with the thoughts of Madison and the founders is included in understandable detail. The Statist assault led by Judges legislating from the bench is carefully outlined in a section that clearly describes the continuous assault on the foundation of our nation.
The failure of Federal spending to solve any recession is outlined with a recitation of the continued record unemployment figures throughout the 30’s despite the Roosevelt intercession of massive government programs, new agencies and control of many aspect of previously free market activity. The conclusions of expert analysis that the depression would have ended six years earlier without the government intercession is supported by some of the New Deal operatives of those programs and Levin provides the quotes.
A quote that strikes at the current administration economic policy was provided 70 years ago by
Roosevelt’s Treasury Secretary Henry Morgenthau. He provides a telling statement in his private diary. He states;” we have tried spending money. We are spending more than we have ever spent before and it does not work… We have never made good on our promises… I say after eight years of this Administration we have as much unemployment as when we started… and an enormous debt to boot.
I wonder why Ted Geithner, Bernanki and Obama haven’t read the Levin book and the quotes of the Statists of a previous period. Either they haven’t done their homework or they are determined to ignore previous failures to continue their pursuit of power
I have thought for some time that in the Obama Administration a form of tyranny was to be a result of the programs being formulated. Levin points out that the tyranny has been structured in a gradual step by step process through decades of Statist activity. His thoughtful presentation has been very helpful in clarifying the real development of what have been my fears.
Adam Smith in 1776 wrote: An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations This work is regarded as the foundation work that formed the base for modern economic theory. Smith makes an important point that government does not add value to the economy. I have noted this in previous blog posts and Levin makes the same point with the additional clarifying note that the Obama stimulus “removes value from the economy by imposing taxes on one citizen and providing cash to another.”
Edmunde Burke argued that “each individual is created as a unique spiritual being.” Burke made the case that there is one law that governs all law, the law of humanity, justice and equity—the law of nature and of nations.—Natural Law
At the heart of our nations founding was a belief and statement concerning Natural Law and that Life Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness are unalienable rights of man.
Levin makes the point that: “the abandonment of Natural Law is the adoption of tyranny in one form or another, because there is no humane or benevolent alternative to Natural Law.”
Obama and his cronies are demonstrating their disdain for the founding principles of our nation. Dignity and value of the individual is considered to be subservient to the greater capability of the “State” and it’s organizers. Levin needs to be read. His summations proofs and quotes concerning the foundation of America have in concise form recalled for me many of our nation’s founding principles that I studied in my American history courses decades ago.
Levin with his example of accurate reporting has me now, more carefully, reviewing historic facts to support conclusions rather than just ranting about this administration. The administration deserves some rants in which I will still engage, but the Levin example of careful documentation will help any case against the Obama Statis agenda to steal our America.

One can observe the number of filters from cigarettes that never reach the rubbish bin, but instead will end up on sidewalks and roads. Contrary to what most puffers believe, cigarette leftovers take a very long time to rot. Another problem emerges with the smoke they breath out, which affects a lot of people. Non-smokers who inhale second-hand fumes are more at risk in getting respiratory illnesses because their lungs have not developed any resistance to smoking.
It is largely known that the problem of smoking impacts men and women in different aspects of their life. From fitness to environment to global commerce, smoking sure wastes no nuance of modern society to play with. It could be the impetus for a large group of smoking people to quit, and a determinant you should chew over when you finally decide that you have to end smoking today.
Addiction from cigs and the habit of smoking are the two parts of smoking that are usually ignored and should be dealt with during a cessation program. Each of the pair is as crucial as the other, but differ in how they affect people. Being addicted to something is caused by the object triggering certain receptors in the brain which then receives pleasure and thus looks for it continuously. Habit is more on the biological side, the program embedded in your mind as you repeatedly fulfill your addiction and smoke until it becomes part of your lifestyle. Some smokers do not find the taste or smell of a cigarette pleasant anymore but never stop simply because of the habit.
Some tips to bring addiction to an end
- A great detox and crave-resistant drink is green tea.
Make good use of nicotine nasal sprays that gives you a consistent injection of nicotine which is efficacious in dealing with your problem.
Eat eggplants, cabbages, basically a lot of plants in your daily menu as well as perishables made from milk. They give your smokes a very displeasing taste which will help you put the addiction to an end.
Caffeine has stimulating properties which makes cigarettes taste sweeter, so avoiding softdrinks, certain cakes and coffee is advisable.
Dealing with the tendency to smoke
- Keep your hands always busy. Appropriately, of course. A new hobby is up there on most lists, and mentally takes you away from your cravings as well. Crossword puzzles, jogging or Jigsaws are good suggestions.
Chomping on carrot sticks or chewing on gum delays the craving and makes you remember of your commitment to quit.
Letting your friends and family know of your attempt gives you support and strength to continue with your effort.
These suggestions are still wanting in content, and simply a gentle push to the right direction. Other webpages are available as well as nice quit smoking aids to help you quit smoking soon, which you will need to finally kick this nasty vice away.

HA! now that I have gotten your attention. Can you imagine what would happen if someone Googles that particular phrase and ends up here. Not the trippin' they are looking for perhaps. No "how to" manual here my friend! Just me and my weird obsession with telling you about what goes on here at the nut house.
Something around here is blooming and trying to destroy my peace and happiness. I don't know what it is but if I could figure it out then it would be RoundUp time I can tell you. Stuffy nose, watery eyes, sneezing. I'm not contagious but sure wish I was so that I could share this lovely feeling with others. The more the merrier I always say.
So I finally gave in, after three days of outrageous suffering, and took a Claritin. I really hate those things, I really do. But it was either that or continue to sneeze, sniffle and generally sound awful. With H1N1 flu hanging around people give you dirty looks and back up in line at the grocery store when you stand there and honk into a tissue. Whenever I blow my nose HHBL asks if the circus is in town. Thanks honey, I love you too.
Of course, there was no escaping the checker in Walmart who blew her nose into a piece of paper towel and then went back to scanning my groceries. I stood there in disbelief. What, no hand sanitizer, no excuse me while I wash my hands? She just started right back in to touch my produce. Can you say EWWWWWWW! But I digress.
Anyways, when I took the Claritin I knew what I was in store for.......my own version of the 1960's "trip" with Timothy Leary. And by that I don't mean going to the beach for a day to soak up the sun. I wish. I know that the package says "non-drowsy" and that is for the most part true. It is just that those things put a general, happy, detached glow to my day that I really don't want. I like to be in touch with reality. That is why I don't color my hair, I like reality (and I am lazy). That is why I would never make a good alcoholic or drug addict, I have to have control of my surroundings. I do understand why people might like the feeling, I had Demerol in the ER and all I can say is, "MAN!" but still. I like to be in control and that stuff makes me so not.
But, the WORST part about the Claritin is the trippy dreams that I have for the first 2-3 days. Man, oh man do I hate going to bed after taking one of those innocent little white pills. And those of you who know me know how much I LOVE getting into bed at night. Settling down into the covers, under my magic Chinese silk filled comforter that HHBL brought back for me from China, fluffing up the pillows and sinking into dream land. But.Not.With.Claritin.
No with Claritin it is all waking up every hour, restlessness, weird trippy dreams and general disruption of my all important beauty sleep - which I shouldn't miss ANY of because I can use all the help I can get at this stage. My legs take on a life of their own and I flop around in bed like a large, flabby fish in the bottom of a boat.
I remember writing this entire blog post during the night in my head, only it had a lot more swirling colors and cool sitar music attached to it. And then of course, I also had a hot flash episode in the middle of all the trippiness. It just kept getting better and better I tell you. Especially since every time I looked over, there was HHBL just sleeping away, snoring in that cute way of his. It was just adding pain to the already painful night.
If I can just guts it out for another night or two I should be back to normal. Well, as normal as I ever am......which isn't very.

I'm on my 35 weeks of my pregnancy, and as my baby grows and my tummy getting bigger, my cough also is getting worse. At first I thought the cause of my cough is my pregnancy, coz when I was pregnant with Jake, I had cough too but not as bad as this one. The doctor said, its common to other pregnant woman to experience chest congestion, but still they advise me to see my general physician. So, my doctor said I had little symptoms of asthma because he heard some wheezing, so he prescribed me for an aerosol inhalator when wheezing occur. For couple of days I had been using it, helped my cough. But when my cough was getting harder and worst the inhalator didn't help, I used it more than the times the doctor prescribed, I was feeling so miserable and find it hard to breath. My stomach and back were both sore from coughing, it sucks! I think my cough will stop after I deliver my baby, cross finger to that. I'm glad lately my cough is not as hard as before, though still bothers me, and my Obgyn was right, once my stomach start dropping down it will help my breathing. I'm still hoping this cough of mine is just cause from my pregnancy and not asthma. I made a research for asthma coz I was desperate to find any medicine I could take, well I did not found medicine but i got interested with the other information I found online.
According From Wikipedia;
Asthma is a chronic inflammation of the lungs in which the airways (bronchi) are reversibly narrowed. Asthma affects 7% of the population, or 20 million Americans,and 300 million worldwide. During attacks (exacerbations), the smooth muscle cells in the bronchi constrict, and the airways become inflamed and swollen. Breathing becomes difficult, and asthma causes 4,000 deaths a year in the U.S. Attacks can be prevented by avoiding triggering factors and by drug treatment.
The most common symptoms of an asthma attack are:
* Chest tightness
* Coughing
* Shortness of breath
* Wheezing
Sometimes coughing is the only symptom. Asthma symptoms often occur at night or during exercise, but they can occur at any time.
(Note: Other conditions, such as respiratory infections, may also cause wheezing, especially in children. Talk with your doctor if you are concerned.)
Most researchers believe that the different patterns of asthma are all related to one condition. But some researchers feel that separate forms of lung conditions exist. There is currently no cure for asthma and no single exact cause has been identified. Therefore, understanding the changes that occur in asthma, how it makes you feel, and how it can behave over time is vital. This knowledge can empower people with asthma to take an active role in your own health.
